JACD' Startup Committee has recently published "Proposals for Advancing Japan's Venture Ecosystem (Revised Edition)." This document revises the first edition published in 2023, taking into account the actual conditions and trends in Japan's venture ecosystem over the subsequent three years.
While Japan continues to expand startup support measures and investment capital, the creation of companies capable of sustainable growth in the global market remains limited. Behind this lies a structural problem: Japan's ecosystem is disconnected from the world's leading ecosystems.
The most significant feature of the revised edition is that it addresses the need for institutional measures aimed at establishing market discipline to tackle challenges that cannot be resolved merely through deregulation or quantitative expansion.
Through this proposal, JACD aims to bolster the international competitiveness of Japan's startup ecosystem and will continue to engage in policy advocacy and practical support to foster a market environment that meets global standards.
